You can skip the line, I promise.

This past Saturday was delightful outside. It was warm enough that after ballet class, we decided to wander up to the West Village - Little One in a tutu and no plans!
First stop: Amano Cafe - The baked goods looked fine, but I'd suggest getting coffee only and prioritize baked goods at the next stop.
Second stop: L'Appartement 4F - Yes, I did write about this place in last week's newsletter, but when we realized we were walking past their second location we had to stop. I still recommend the plain croissant and raspberry kouign amann the most!
Third stop: Stumptown Coffee Roasters - Sure I had two coffees in the space of 1 hour, but I really needed it! Not to mention it is a decent bathroom stop in the West Village.
Fourth stop: Washington Square Park - I forgot about the street performers. We spent an hour just sitting and listening to some college kids play band-style music. We also tried out the kid's playground for a bit. Unfortunately this playground seemed a little big for my Little One (a tall 3.5 year old!). She spent most of her time in the muddy grass instead of climbing the ropes and monkey bars.
Fifth stop: NY Dosas - Full disclosure, I didn't have the patience to wait in excess of 2 hours for a Dosa. The trick? Walk up to the front of the cart and ask to buy some Samosas (confession... I was too scared to do it and made David do it. He did get looks from people in the line, but you are definitely allowed to skip the line if you're just getting samosas!). We got three samosas and they were absolutely delicious!!! Makes me want to go back on a weekday to try and get a dosa too.
Sixth stop: Pomme Frites - I'm a sucker for fries and I do really like the fries here. I'm a loyal fan from the days they were in the Lower East Side!
The real winner of the day was the samosas. It may be a regular stop every time we're passing through the West Village.
In other news... RIP to the adorable pink ballet leotard and tutu my Little One was wearing. I don't recommend wearing pink while rolling in the mud...
