Easter is my Superbowl!

... and let's just say I'm still in recovery mode, so this week's newsletter is fashionably late!

My Third Annual Seaport Easter Egg Hunt was this past Sunday and it couldn't have gone better.

  • Around 50 Little Ones and their parents joined us this year!
  • 72 freshly baked cinnamon rolls and coffee scrolls
  • 60 vanilla cake bunnies
  • 24 hot cross buns
  • Carrot cake with cream cheese frosting
  • Chocolate cake with dark chocolate ganache
  • Honeycomb, meringues, chocolate chip cookies, oatmeal cookies
  • 65 PYO 'bunny truck' cookie sets
  • Over 200 easter eggs found by the Little Ones

There's still time to host your own Easter Egg Hunt this weekend with friends and family. Here are my tips and tricks for hosting your own Easter Egg Hunt:

  1. 2.3 inch size Easter Eggs are the best - smaller ones are easier to fill!
  2. Fill them with stickers, temporary tattoos etc. These squishy things and these bouncy balls were a hit
  3. Only hide a quarter of the eggs at the start. Divide the rest into three bags
  4. As the Little Ones search for eggs, have adult helpers 'hide' more eggs as they run around. It helps make sure everyone gets their fair share!
  5. If there is a superstar egg searcher, encourage them to help you hide a couple of their eggs for others to find

Don't feel like organizing your own event? No worries, I found a few Easter related events happening this weekend:

I'm sure there are plenty Easter events happening around town!

A HUGE thank you to everyone that joined us on Sunday and made it the absolute best Easter Egg hunt we've had to date!

What we are doing this week...

Earth Day on Governor's Island!

My favorite time of year is when it's finally warm enough to head over to Governor's Island and this event feels like it's the start of the season!

When: Saturday April 19 from 10am - 3pm

... One More thing for this week...

The Frick is Reopening

Renovations are completed and it's reopening on April 17. Sounds like there are more floors open to the public than there was before.

... and Another thing we MIght do ...

Maker's Market in Bryant Park

I love a good market where you can find unique hand made things!

When: April 18-20

What saved my sanity this week...

Toddler Shoes

Ever since we got a scooter, we've been blowing through my Little One's shoes (she drags the top of her her shoe to stop)... It's so bad that we have holes on the top of her all her shoes right now.

And of course, Allbirds stopped making their kids shoes, so these have been the best replacement I've found so far

What we are Reading this week...

"Llama llama gram and grandpa" - Anna Dewdney"

The rhyming also works perfectly with 'Pappou and Yiayia' or 'Nannu and Nanna'!!!

What I treated myself to this week...

Women's Øriginal Grand Platform Wingtip Oxfords by Cole Haan

Hands down, the most comfortable shoe ever made. Not to mention that I can get away with wearing them to the office! I have them in gold, rose gold and black. The rose gold ones are on sale right now!

... and another thing I'm buying today...

DreamSculpt Puff Sleeve Swimsuit by Stylest

This is my favorite swimsuit! I discovered this brand three years ago and now have four of these swimsuits. They're having a 20% off sale today. They rarely go on sale and I am not one to gatekeep.
