The best croissant in NYC
... and it's in Brooklyn Heights!
Let me back up a bit.
On Sunday, we went to Brooklyn to cheer on the half-marathon runners! You’d think that watching all that dedication and endurance would inspire us to squeeze in a workout afterward… but nope. Instead, we went on a mission to find somewhere new to eat in Brooklyn Heights! Priorities, right?!
The plus side is that now I have a new day for you to explore another part of Brooklyn with the Little Ones!
Getting there: Take the 2/3 train to Clark Street. It always shocks me how quick it is to get there!
First stop: Books are Magic - I am a sucker for an independent book store and this one is adorable and the perfect for the Little Ones.
Second stop: L'Appartement 4F - Start with the best croissant ever. I know I've told you before that Librae is my favorite. This one blows Librae out of the water. I don't know why it took me so long to try it, but I can't recommend it enough. Just look at that photo above - that structure! Other things to get:
- Also get: Raspberry Kouign Amann and baguette
- Skip: The cinnamon roll - it's way too sweet for me
Third stop: Brooklyn Heights Promenade - After picking up some treats, continue walking towards the Brooklyn Heights Promenade, the perfect place to stop and eat a croissant, even on a overcast and foggy day. Also happens to be the perfect place for a Little One to throw a tantrum (see photo above!).
Making your way to Dumbo: Continue north on the Brooklyn Heights Promenade and on the left hand side, you'll see a walkway bridge down towards Dumbo. Discovering this pathway was a revalation! For the longest time I had no idea how to easily get to the promenade.
Fourth Stop: 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge - You all know it's my favorite place in Brooklyn to stop for a little break. Not only are there comfy couches, but it's the perfect bathroom stop spot. Skip the coffee and treats at the cafe here though, there's way better elsewhere.
Make your way home: You know I'm going to say to take the Ferry! A 5 minute ride from Dumbo to Wall street is the perfect way to end the day
Honorable mentions:
- The Brooklyn Cat Cafe: Honestly, this is my worst nightmare, but I know a lot of people love cats and this seems like an interesting place to take the Little Ones
- Poppy's: A great place to stop when you want something a little more than straight carbs
