Weekly NYC toddler hacks from a local Mum & Baker in the South Street Seaport

Bumping our way through Bryant Park...

Anyone else feel like the end of winter is almost here?! Granted our Lilo and Stitch beanie and gloves may indicate otherwise...

Saturday's weather looks like a well needed break from the arctic temperatures we've had lately.

What better way than to head up to Bryant Park?

Three things on the agenda for this weekend:

First up... Bumper Cars on Ice

Saturday is the last day to jump into a bumper car on ice! Back in our pre-kid days, David surprised me with this on one of our adventure days.

Hands down, one of the funnest things we've done in NYC!

Now there is an minimum age of 7 years to participate, so Little Ones will miss out, but I'm sure they'd love to watch and laugh!

Next... Children's Center at NYPL

The NYPL on 42nd is so grand that i'm sure your Little One would be excited to take a photo with the lion statues outside!

There's also a Children's Center inside for a quick stop and pick-up some library books or even just stop to read. Note - it's a great bathroom pitstop too!

Finally... Angelina Bryant Park

Head to the tea room for some well deserved hot chocolate! I'm a sucker for it without the whipped cream, but you do you! I can't speak to the food here, I've only got the hot chocolate! I may have also bought the bottle to go...

... but if you're pretty hungry... Alidoro

Stop by Alidoro to pick up an Italian sandwich. There isn't a lot of space to sit and eat, but there are tables. I'm a sucker for the Mona Lisa sandwich too.

What we are doing this week...

Teddy Bear Clinic at the Seaport

NewYork-Presbyterian is hosting the cutest event—hospital experts will be teaching kids how to give their teddy bear a check-up!

No need to bring your own bear—each child gets to bring their patient home!

We’ve got our tickets, and if you’re coming too, let me know!

Saturday, March 1 from 11:30am to 1pm

Adult tickets: $28

Kids tickets: $17

NYC Ballet - Family Saturdays

A one hour presentation of a Swan Story is the perfect compliment to our Saturday morning ballet class at Dance with Miss Rachel.

Saturday, March 1 at 11am

If you miss this one, the next one is scheduled for May 31

... and one more thing for this week...

The Gates - Augmented

I may be grasping at straws with this one but this is opening this week. If it were the original orange gates up in Central Park from 20'ish years ago, I'd be more excited to go - it took me 10 minutes to realize it's an 'augmented' experience so you'll be able to visualize the gates with your phones only.

What we are Reading this week...

"The Monster at the end of this Book staring lovable, furry old Grover"

First to admit that I don't love this book but my Little One (and David!) are obsessed.

What Saved my sanity This week...

Alphabet Train Floor Puzzle

My Little One finally loves this puzzle and spends a decent amount of time singing out the alphabet and working through the puzzle.
