The crowds have begun...

You would think that because Saturday was such a fantastic day weather-wise, that I would have a phenomenal day lined up to tell you about.

Well... let's just say there were tantrums, and not just from my Little One.

We decided to go to Dumbo, which is a typical day for us. Big mistake. I should have remembered that the first nice day of the season (especially on a weekend) is the worst time to travel somewhere full of tourists...

Getting there: The ferry from Wall Street to Dumbo. By now, you all know we are obsessed with the ferries.

First stop: Jane's Carousel - Riding this thing never gets old. Make sure to go to the horses in the middle. Look up - you can tell which horses go up and down by the way they are attached to the top of the carousel. Who wouldn't want to be on the moving horses?! For $3 a ride (Little Ones are free), it's a steal. Not to mention that my Little One is finally big enough to hold onto her horse on her own, which means I can sit on my own horse and relive my childhood! =

Second stop: Butler - Not my favorite place to pick up pastries, but it's worth stopping to pick up coffee. In fact, I suggest you skip the pastries here altogether. See the newsletter from two weeks ago where it talks through how to walk to L'Appartement 4F in Brooklyn Heights, which isn't too far away and well worth the trek.

Third stop: Main Street Playground - This place is great when it's not chaotically busy. Of course, this past Saturday it was chaotically busy. It's a big playground that has plenty of space to run around, the only issue is the tyre swing. Anyone else loath haven't to deal with unsupervised Big Kids pushing the Little Ones out of the way so they can't get on the swing?! Pick up coffee before you head into the park. You'll need it.

Fourth stop: Timeout Dumbo Market - It's a little insane and overcrowded by tourists, but if you're looking to eat, it's a great place to stop at Clinton Street Baking Company for pancakes. I also recommend going to Kith Treats for some ice cream before leaving!

Fifth stop: The Modern Chemist - Sure this is actually a pharmacy, but it genuinely has the best stuff in here! I've found so many cool little things I didn't know I needed! I love a good gift store and this is by far one of my favorites in the city.

Final stop: Jacque Torres - I miss the location that used to be in Soho! Before it gets too warm, I recommend stopping in to get the hot chocolate. Personally I think the chocolate chip cookie is overrated, but i'm biased and prefer my own chocolate chip cookies!

I'm almost happy the weather is cooler again for a few days - this last trip reminded me that I need to enjoy Dumbo now before teh warm weather comes!

โ€‹Lillies and Roses - Braceletsโ€‹

I let my Little One pick out one thing from The Modern Chemist last week and she chose this one so she can share it with friends.

What we are Reading this week...

โ€‹"One fish two fish red fish blue fish" by Dr. Seussโ€‹

We are in a real big Dr. Seuss phase over here. We happen to have two copies of this book and it's become an unintentional bedtime hack. My Little One likes to 'read along' with her own book as we read this story to her at night.

What I treated myself to this week...

โ€‹The Original Duckhead Umbrellaโ€‹

Rainy season is upon us! Ever since discovering this umbrella at The Modern Chemist (see story above!), I knew I needed multiple of these babies. I have three so far.

What I binge watched to this week...

โ€‹Running Pointโ€‹

I know everyone is talking about Adolescence on Netflix, but I can't do it.

Give me light and fluffy any day. I've already watched this all the way through twice. I love anything Mindy Kaling does, but add Kate Hudson to the mix and it's even better.
