Yes... I'm referring to that Pez

PSA - we have discovered the most unexpected and cool 'museum' that's a little over an hour away from us!

The Pez Museum.

Admittedly, I didn't expect to be writing about the Pez Museum this week. I had a whole other thing planned.

But we went to Cape Cod last week and during our exploration through the little shops, my Little One discovered a Witch Halloween themed Pez dispenser that she HAD to have. It ended up being the find of the trip.

Fast forward to us driving back to New York. We planned a stop at the New Haven Duck Donuts (Note: I can be bribed with Aussie style hot cinnamon sugar donuts any day of the week). When we got off the highway, we stopped at a light and I said out loud "How funny - this street is called Pez".... turns out - it was the street to the Pez factory. It was a sign. So of course we had to make a detour.

We were blown away!

Now - I didn't grow up with Pez. My only reference to Pez is that Seinfeld episode.

But they got me hooked with a scavenger hunt. My competitiveness was ignited and I spent 30 minutes running around trying to 'find the historic pez dispensers' to win a prize. I was committed. I actually have no idea what my Little One did while I focused, but apparently she loved the museum too!

Getting there:

  • We drove there. I'm sure you could take the train to New Haven too.

The details:

  • The entry fee is great value for money. $5 for adults and $4 for kids - then everyone gets a $2 voucher to spend in the shop
  • Get the scavenger hunt card and if you find all 8 historic pez dispensers, you get to spin the wheel and win a prize (spoiler - it's a pez dispenser)
  • Now I completed this task like my life depended on it... I was little disappointed that they didn't even check my answers when I handed it in!
  • I definitely recommend spending your voucher money on the 'make your own pez' bucket at the back of the museum - especially since you 'win' dispensers on your way out.
  • We were there on a weekend, but if you go during a weekday, you'll get to see the factory in action. I'm a sucker for anything 'how is it made' - especially the tv show

Verdict:

  • Definitely stop by if you're passing through New Haven
  • We are definitely stopping there again the next time we pass through. I'm pretty sure my Little One is going to insist on it

What we are doing this weekend...

Atlantic Antic

I accidentally stumbled on this event 16 years ago and since then it's been a yearly tradition to go. So much fun to roam Atlantic avenue, going in and out of the stores.

When: Sunday, October 5

Another thing to do this weekend...

Fad Market in Dumbo

Love heading to this market. It roams around, but in October will be in Dumbo and you all know I love to take the ferry over there with my Little One.

When: Saturday, October 4 to Sunday, October 5

What would be cool to do this weekend...

Atlantic Rummage Sale

In theory, this sounds amazing and exactly what I want to do this weekend. In reality, i'm not trekking to NJ to do this. But if you're in the area, this looks pretty cool and fun to do with the Little Ones.

When: October 3-5, 2025, Far Hills Fairgrounds

What I am doing this weekend...

Crazy ex girlfriend reunion

If you all only knew how much I LOVED this show when it was on. The songs are phenomenal - some a little too real to my dating life in my 30's!

When: Saturday, October 4 - Beacon theatre

What Saved my sanity this week...

Watercolor gel crayons - Ooly

Obsessed. I bought these for the road trip home and they are honestly life changing. What's cool about them is that you draw with them and then you can wet a paintbrush and basically turn it into 'water color'. This was hours of entertainment in the car and outside of the car. Amazing and well worth the money.

What we are Reading this week...

"How to catch a monster" - Adam Wallace & Andy Elkerton

We're getting in the mood for Halloween? Too early? I think not.

What I am obsessed with this week...

Longline shirt - COS

This will now be my Fall/Winter uniform. And it's on sale now - 25% off. I'm sure the DVF Nella dress will still be in rotation, even when it starts to freeze!
