We love Flatiron!

Did we do a 'day' centered on going to the dentist? You bet we did!

I love my dentist. Which I guess I never hear people say, but I have been going to Dr Gonzales at Ever Care Dental in Flatiron for 14 years now! Now she looks after my Little One, who loves to visit the dentist every 6 months! This is not an ad, i'm just a huge fan of a woman owned and led business. I also genuinely don't think I ever loved going to the dentist as a kid...

I didn't even have to bribe my Little One with the promise of ice cream for going to the dentist.

That said, we still got ice cream after going to the dentist.

Let me tell you.... I know I keep saying I don't like ice cream (I swear I don't), but I had the most phenomenal soft serve ice cream I have ever had in my life.

This is the second time I've had this gelato. The gelato is decent. Downside is that it's a nut allergy nightmare (so many nut flavors just sitting next to non nut flavors). But this time visiting, I realized they have a vanilla softserve. Don't confuse this with the frozen greek yoghurt (which isn't worth it even though I usually love it).

The vanilla soft serve is phenomenal. So good, that I went back a few days later. And I want to go again tomorrow.

We also needed food. You will too...

• To sit down and eat... Mama Mezze: I'm a sucker for dips and bread
• To pick up and go... Eataly: The porchetta sandwich is amazing

What we are doing this week...

Annual Seaport Halloween Parade The BEST fun with Little Ones! It's our annual tradition to attend and we will definitely be there on Friday! We'll be meeting the other Little Ones in the neighborhood at Fishbridge Garden at 4:30pm, then we'll start the parade and walk around the neighborhood for the Little Ones to do some trick or treating together. What we would do if we weren't at the seaport this week...

What I would be doing if I didn't have a Little One...

The official West Village Halloween Parade Honestly, you couldn't pay me to go to this parade. I can't stand crowds. But it is pretty epic and a must do if you've never gone before. The NY Marathon Why do they always have the marathon on Halloween weekend?! It makes no sense, but don't forget it's happening on Sunday and head out to support the runners!! What I might want to do...

Allison Roman - Live Some of her recipes are great, especially the Caramelized Shallot Pasta - it's in heavy rotation in our household. Kind of wish it was a cook-along or demonstration instead of a talk, but i'm intrigued. When: November 11 Link to website (not an affiliate, just a fan)

What saved my sanity this week...

Made by Dentists - Toothpaste Anyone else spend way too much money on toothpaste that is inevitably 'too spicy' to try and get your Little One to brush their teeth!? Our dentist recommended this and it's been phenomenal! Link to amazon (not an affiliate, just a fan)

What we are reading this week...

"Trick or Treat" The Berenstain Bears by Stan and on Berenstain We read this book all year around, but of course it's more special this week! Link to amazon (not an affiliate, just a fan)
