Turns out it's on 12th and Ave B
It's pretty obvious that today's newsletter was going to include a debrief on the Halloween dog parade... right? Sure... I'm obsessed.
Don't be fooled by our "bluey and bingo" pictured above - these Little Ones did not walk in the parade, however I dare say they were cute enough to do so!
We ventured to the East Village to watch the parade... a great way to spend Saturday! What's not great? After 20 minutes of waiting for it to begin, realizing that you've been standing at the END of the parade!!
It didn't matter - the Little Ones got to see all the cool dogs walking to and from the parade. It was chaos, but the bright start - we discovered an amazing playground just by accident!
The Joseph C. Saur Park.
Don't be discouraged by the terrible photos on google maps - the playground definitely got a great facelift!
The Pros
- The equipment is big and fun to play on
- Swings for all ages (including me!)
- A grassy area to run around
- A tyre swing (granted - this gives me anxiety when it comes to playground fights 'waiting' in line)
The Cons
- No bathroom - bring your portable potty
What I'll do next time:
I'll definitely be heading up there again just to play in this playground. I feel like I never have somewhere to go in the East Village!
- B Cup Cafe: First, buy a soup from here for my Little One
- Sushi Counter: Next, pick up some sushi rolls here for me (and maybe a veggie for the Little One too)
- The Pastry Box: Then, pick up some pastries for all of us
- House of Pasta: Run here if the Little Ones don't eat any of that an you just need good old pasta
All of these places are STEPS away from the park. I still need to figure out a bathroom stop for myself when there - but for now, it's definitely a day adventure I'm looking forward to doing again.

What we may do... eventually...

Ice skating is back! And apparently it's free if you bring your own ice skates. I clearly don't have my own, nor do I want to tempt fate to ice skate (... i'm not coordinated...).

What I'm going to try and convince anyone to do with me...
|
|
For a second I thought the word 'family' meant we can bring our kids, but it's at 9pm, so that's not happening. I'm a sucker for Bingo....

What saved my sanity this week...
|
|
I caved and got kids nail polish for my Little One after she came home from school saying her friend also has nail polish. Do I regret it? Not sure yet... but it's been a great incentive (i.e., bribery) tool this week...

What we are reading this week...
|
|
This classic has been on repeat this week. I wish I could find the actual stuffy version as well! Not that I need more stuffies in my apartment...

What we I am going to attempt this week...
|
|
I have an amazing granola recipe that I don't get to make because my Little One has a Tree Nut allergy. Adding grated apple instead? I'm intrigued!!
